your own company, you know… in other words calling the shots?
I absolutely love having
the opportunity to have my own company. Being an author and a “Godspirational”
speaker under my own company is mind-blowing. For now it’s just me but I
believe God will certainly enlarge my territory as I continue to allow Him to
call the shots! :)
Would you like to tell our readers how long
you've been writing?
I have been writing for
many years but decided to do it as a profession and try my hand at writing a
novel in 2006.
When did you know that God indeed wanted or
instructed you to become a writer in the fictional Christian genre, because are
so many out there?
Good question….. I
really believe God instructed me to write for Him in the midst of my leaving
the corporate environment. I was
concerned about my next career move and my heart heard, “You will work for
me.” The premise for my first
novel was then revealed to me and I have been writing for Him ever since. When one writes about the Savior,
things ( situations for the reader) have got to change. When inserting the word of God into
your story, lives will be impacted…. “For the word of God is living and
powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division
of soul and spirit, … it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews
4:12 I want to impact and
augment the Kingdom of God through the stories that I share. My goal is to
change lives and we can only really accomplish that through true revelation of
the word of God.
Can you tell us more about M. Ann Ricks or
should I say Melissa?
Danielle, please feel
free to call me Melissa….
Simply stated, I am a
woman, redeemed and set free by the life-changing blood of Jesus Christ. I am a
wife, mother, author and “Godspirational” speaker living in Bear, Delaware
endeavoring to live for Christ ON PURPOSE as I provide Christian literature
that will not only entertain but encourage and enlighten.
Tell us what sets you apart from other authors
or do you consider yourself like most authors?
Danielle, I think what
separates me from other authors in this genre is that I am not ashamed of the
gospel of Christ! I recognize that it is the POWER of God unto Salvation to all
who believe. I am not afraid to say what God says and stand on it. So many
authors steer clear of subjects that may cause rumblings rather than standing
on the word of God, not realizing that the good news and the “gospel” is POWER!
The message of Christ is to share
the gospel with the oppressed; use His word to heal the brokenhearted, tell those that are
bound that they are free in Jesus, open the eyes of those who can’t or those
who are unable to see who Jesus is without apology.
What has this ride been like with not one, but
three novels under your hat?
It has been quite a ride
Danielle. Can I say rollercoaster! I am still riding…. I have to “hold fast to my confession…”
and continue to trust God!
Is there something that you would like for
the readers to grasp from your latest novel titled “The Blood Done Signed My
Name" and where can they find more about your books and you?
The message that I would
love for all to receive from "THE BLOOD DONE SIGNED MY NAME" is that regardless of who you are, what your
lineage looks like, whatever you’ve done, whatever has been done to you, the
blood of Jesus can make you a new creature because of its power. God loves us
so much and because He loves us, He sacrificed His only son Jesus. Jesus became
the sacrifice for us. We are absolved and even justified. We can walk in freedom and liberty because of what Jesus
did. A new life is available for those who believe!
And is this book much different from the others
that you've written? If so how different?
Yes, this book is
different because at the onset,(when receiving the premise from the Holy
Spirit), Honey and her plight was
almost foreign to me.
With my other novels, I
was very familiar with the characters… with THE
BLOOD, I did more digging and listening than I ever
had. I had to listen and be sensitive to what God wanted me to share. I had to
do some real soul searching to reach Honey and meet her where she was. Her
growth and transformation was important to the story and I had to allow God to
show how make it evident and more importantly relatable to the reader. This novel was challenge and a
blessing!
How long did it take you to complete this
last novel and where did you get your inspirations from?
THE BLOOD DONE SIGNED MY NAMEtook approximately 9 month to write and another 3-6 months to get
it where God wanted it to be. My
inspiration was solely, without a doub, the Holy Spirit!
If there were any struggles along the way
what were they and how did you overcome them?
There were struggles
along the way…. Yes indeed! There
were delays, rewrites, rejections and faith fights! At times I was my worst
enemy! There were many days I was so discouraged, I wanted to simply give up. I’m so thankful Danielle, that God is
faithful even we forget what He’s promised. “God is not a
man, that He should lie, ….Has He said, and will He not do? … has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” Numbers 23:19
If you could give any advice to the up and
coming writers what you say to them?
I would certainly say
that they need to really believe in their gift and talent and that rejection
may be a bitter pill that they may have to swallow but if God has called you to
do it then He will see you through it! Stand on His promises as He is obligated
to finish what He has started in you! He will send you people for life! (
Danielle, I truly believe that you are one of the people that God has sent to me!)
What can we look for from you in the future?
It is my hope to implement my literary workshop
for aspiring Christian writers called, “Conversations….
Writing to Reconcile”. I had the wonderful opportunity to share it locally
but would love to be afforded a venue that could allow me to do so nationally.
Using our literary gifts is our mandate to reconcile others to Christ. Additionally,
for all who are interested, I distribute electronically (on-line) a monthly
newsletter, M. Ann’s Literary
Communiqué and will continue to increase circulation. While touring with THE BLOOD DONE SIGNED MY NAME, I am beginning
my 4th novel, Power In The PRAISE!

TAMEIKA RAYE'LA CARTER
Tameika
Raye'la Carter is a single mother of three beautiful daughters, Trinity
age 14, Nautica age 11, and Destiny age 9. She was born and raised in
Springfield, Massachusetts until she made a change in location to
Chicopee, Massachusetts and has been a resident there since 2000.
Tameika also is a graduate of Springfield's own High School of Commerce in the class of 1993. She is no stranger to hard work and struggling being that she was raised by a single mother of five children and learned the importance of strength and endurance.
She has been through many hardships that have brought her to the point in life where she is today. Tameika is a survivor of domestic violence and other areas of abuse, and from these experiences she has decided to get into the Human Service field to help others who have been in similar situations as she faced in her past.
Tameika has prided herself in her a role in helping various parents and youth to make positive changes in their lives. She also feels as though if she had been given the opportunities in life then why not share that same opportunity with others. There have been times when she had felt as though she hit a brick wall, and work just seemed like work; but found the most fulfilling days when she was able to make a difference in the life of a child with words of advice or hope for the future.
After receiving a degree in the Human Services field was a way for Tameika to give back to the community.Giving back in a very positive respect and be that positive road blocks in the lives of youth preventing them from making mistakes she made in her own past.
The one special woman who gave Tameika the most influence and mentorship through this time would be Ms. Jane Gilman the instructor at HCC who taught the “Helping Relations”course. Through this aswesome powerful woman, Tameika learned the importance of life and how every experience happens for a reason, and how she was an important tool to help others by what she has gone through. Her presence is still felt in everyday life even though she is no longer with us in the physical form; when times seems be too so rough and the hurdles too great to get over the thought of this woman continues to push Tameika to do great things.
Life is short and helping one person at a time to realize their potential and that all things can be accomplished with hard work and commitment. Tameika is presently holding a position as the Youth Programs Coordinator for Valley Opportunity Council a non-profit organization based out of Holyoke, Massachusetts. In this role, she coordinates activities and finds employment for at risk youth who participate in the program; as well as lead a team of staff who’s efforts together bring about a successful program.
Working hand in hand with other vendors giving youth in the community an opportunity to wet their feet in the workforce and learn responsibility.Tameika is a big believer in opportunity and change, she supports Equal Opportunity. If a person is given the right opportunity and they are willing to put in the effort and hard work needed to succeed then anything is possible.
This is the philosophy that Tameika has followed to get her to the point she is at in her life presently. Tameika is a qualified Human Service worker and holds the Associates degree/certificate in Human Services from Holyoke Community College. She prides herself in knowing she is the first in her family to successfully graduate from college and isn't stopping at just one degree, Tameika is currently looking forward to receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Elms College and in the future to obtain her Masters Degree in Child Psychology.
Education is the most important key to success and with all the personal experiences she has accumulated over the years accompanied by work experiences and degrees to show her educational accomplishments; Tameika is prepared to continue to grow and learn and be a better person and stronger and wiser parent and succeed in all aspects of her life that she set her sites on.

We had the
liberty to speak with this awe-inspiring author, that has a little
something to share with tiny diva's in our lives. This book is straight
to the point, and even a easy read for ages 12 to 21. SFMO asked Dawniel
what message did she want her readers to grasp as they read her book.
Her answer was the its just simple. As a woman we control more than what
we give credit for, I want every woman that reads my book, regardless
as to what stage of life they are in, to remember that. As we improve
ourselves we improve the world around us. We also asked her if she
writes from her own experience, and she was YES!! That is all I have,
she shared it is difficult to write about things that we have not seen
first hand. Each of the "girl" types in the book are myself personally,
or girlfriends. As you read the book you will be able to relate to many
of the women "types" at some point in your life. We also asked did she
every think in her wildest dreams that she'd become a published author,
you'll not believe her answer, this is what she said.. Not me. But I
joke that my mom gave me my first typewriter when I was 7. It was huge
and the keys stuck if you hit more than one at a time. She knew before I
did that the keyboard would be my best friend. Wow, the things our
parents do for their children can really have an impact on the people
they become.
SFMO also asked Mrs.
Winningham about what can we be looking forward from her in the future?
She told us REAL Girl! Power is the start of many, many more books for
women and children on life balance. Many have read Girl! Power and say
they want more. Rome wasn't built in a day and WE will not be either.
Slow and steady is the way for us to start and keep new habits,
including loving ourselves first. We even asked her what was the
writing process like? Writing is the closest thing to giving birth.
Getting pregnant (the idea for your book) is easy. But as the idea
grows for the next few months and you actually start to get it on paper
it becomes more and more uncomfortable. Edits, Book covers, and
getting your book on a shelf somewhere are like child birth, you have to
PUSH! And then your book is born. You are excited and proud! Better
not anyone say anything bad about your "child". Now you have to work to
get your "child" to grow up (Marketing) Do you have any advise you'd
like to share with other author's? Oh of course, Writing, Getting
Published, Marketing your book is like Nike "Just do it" There are lots
of obstacles, but there is a lot of help available.Push through, reach
out for help, and get YOUR book out there. The world is waiting.

When we candidly spoke with Melodi Roberts, she was more than happy to share with SFMO that Naughty Ink Press
is ran by D.V. Hent and herself. It was a duo venture the pair decided
to put it to work and see what happens, but we also wanted to convey a
certain message to the readers. For instance adult themed erotic
fiction, not openly nasty or pornographic, not completely romantic
either. So they both decided on Naughty Ink Press.
They liked the word naughty because it was such a sophisticated way to
say "BAD", lol that many people can get on board with. And to this day NIP has just celebrated two years this past July. So we would like to say Happy Birthday to NIP
from SFMO. She also told us that D.V. Hent has two novels out and she
is currently editing an anthology that is due out this fall. When asked
her how long has she been writing, she said off and on for the past
three years. Talk about there is nothing like a writing Diva, to put her
creative spin with words.

was there ever a time when they thought this wasn't going to work, and
surprising her answer was yes. Her words were Facebook is a great
networking and sharing success stories. And sometimes you see more
established businesses get out there and get fans and groupies like so
fast, then you wonder if you'll ever match up. However D.V. and I always
say that if we have to move at a snails pace, so be it whenever we drop
links, pics, websites, questions, invites or whatever it maybe. It has
to be our best effort. The rest of the stuff will come with
time. Anything with our name is attached to will be 110%. Which brings
me to my next point in what we write we use pen names, keeps business
and personal apart from each other, in this type of business you have
to. In other words two different personalities. The reason I write under
a pen is because I'm a licensed professional and don't want attach this
to my profession.
Plus to in this business geographically being in the South, you have to approach your market differently as well. We can't market the same way in TX as we do in NY or VA or any other place on the coast for that matter. All that comes with trial an error and time. We are always learning. Also she shared with us that most people are in business to make money. But NIP's goal being that we are new is EXPOSURE and brand building. We want all of our dots connected. When people come looking for us. And that to takes time and patience.

author of "This Can't Be Life" and that she is. We asked Ms.Cannon how
long did it take her to complete this novel, and her response to us was
it has taken a few years to finally complete write. She stated that she
wasn't disciplined like she needed to be. Ms. Cannon also told us that
she really had her focus on building her Real Estate business.
During her quest to build a great business, she just felt uneasy about her decision to building that business, and not working with her natural gift within. Ms. Cannon told us at that very moment she knew what she needed to do, and it was to finish her book. And now her main focus is her book at this point. She even told us that she found herself afraid of her journey, can I really do this? Then her answer was heck yeah! I can do this. I am determined to get this together, that is why I named my publishing company "Infinite Source Publishing". The possibilities are infinite. Sometimes we tend to hold ourselves back because we are too afraid of what we can actually accomplish, it may sound crazy, but it is the truth she told us.

that was the hardest part, it really affected her, she told us she cried

We also asked Ms.Cannon if she was to do her career as published author all over again, what would she do differently and why? Her answer was there is not much I would do differently. However I do feel things happen for a reason, you know it happens when it's suppose to happen, but I would change my book cover a bit, I'd still use the same picture, but just do something different with the cover.
We also asked her in the novel "This Can't Be Life" if she used real life situations or was it all fiction? In her response it is a bit of real life situation and I just change it up a bit; however it is mainly fiction, like all of my characters are will off, they all have money. who resides in New York, New York life in the “Big Apple” about her most
recent entry into the literary arena, she has not only brought us one
novel, but tagged teamed us with two hot like fyh right of the press. So
Fyh Magazine Online asked Ms. Blanding what it is that she wants her
readers to grasp when reading her novels she told us even though we've
been victimized mean we as women that there is no need to accept
whatever it is being dealt to you. Erika Blanding even told us that her
novels are both fiction/realistic and a taste of real life, but she
states she can change the endings.
When asked about of the two novels which where the easiest/hardest to write she told us that A Single Mother's Hustle was by far the easiest because it was compiled from what others have shared with her and her very own thoughts.
Now Chyna White she said that is her totally inside and out, she said it was a turning point for her so many emotions came through as she wrote this novel; she also laid some of her past to rest after this one. Funny thing to be honest we asked Ms.Blanding which of the two novels are her favorite, she expressed with a laugh now that is like asking which of my daughter I love the most, but did say that Chyna White is very special to her.
We also asked what she really thought about being an author she informed us that a bit of FEAR had set in it had a hold on her, but the passing of her mother she felt free. She told even though it may sound cruel, but where I am in my life that is how I feel, please don't get me wrong I miss her very much. Now that she is with God I now feel like there is nothing I'm unable to do and I'm doing just that. She also reveals there is a third book and so much more in store for us from her. So we must keep our eyes and ears open to see what she will bring us. She even has a bit of advise for her readers she explains she is coming straight from the hip when she writes she doesn't sugar coat anything she writes.

Ms. Blanding introduces us to the character Chyna White in the first novel, this is a woman as a child straight from the womb she had it hard, a child a mother never wanted or even entertained the idea of keeping, but lucky for her that someone wanted her.
Even though Chyna had a wonderful up bringing, but somehow drama was able to find her once again. Her world begins to spiral off the hinges once lies, jealously and all to familiar deceit with a sweet tasting of envy arises to cause her to be shaken. Now hold on to your seat here comes the the second novel "A Single Mother's Hu$tle" again Ms. Blanding's character Chyna White is about to cause havoc in the streets when her children are kidnapped, so now she is beginning called back to the streets a place that she thought she’d left behind.
All to well working her way from that grimy lifestyle of the streets to a lavished job at American Express, yes I said it Chyna White is doing the darn thang, but still she is tied by the game and she’s not able to handle the bumpy roads and sharp turns of life on easy or the hustling of making it do what it do? But you know A Single Mother's Hu$tle is not that simple, when you have haters trying to keep a sister down; then to top it if you messing with the one thing a woman will kill you about, is her children. We recently had the opportunity to talk with Mrs. Luna Charles who lives isn Miami, Fla, but is originally from Ville DePetion-Ville, Quest Haiti. It
was indeed wonderful to speak to Mrs. Charles about her latest venture
is the awesome novel titled “ Men Are Not The Problem ”. She
expressed a great deal of her desire to be able to help other women
that have endured so much in their childhoods many women face on a daily
basis, from all types of emotional, sexual, mental and physical abuse
by the ones that are suppose to care for you.
She also shared with her the life she lived with her mother was anything, but a bed of roses. Mrs.Charles told us that she reads all of her reviews to see what her readers think and feel about her writing.
When asked how did she come up with such a title she said it just hit one day, sometimes we as women take a great deal of crap ( laughing out loud :) I just had to say that!So much has happened to her which is was the turning point and her bestfriend Tina handed her a notebook and encouraged her to write what she felt and when she felted it before long she had completely filled up that notebook, that was her inspiration to her completing this novel in honor of losing her bestfriend that she misses and loves dearly.She also told So Fyh Magazine Online that her fascination for writing was nutured by one of her teachers after she read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, the teacher askd the class to write a short story for a final grade right then an author emerged.Now the novel “Men Are Not The Problem” it is wonderfully written. Mrs.Charles lets us know that 90% of this novel are things that she experienced in her life. Luna Charles takes us into the life of Selene which is a young woman that has been very scarred by her troubled past and falls for the low down, dirty, selfish kind of a lover Michael that only wanted to show her off around his friends as if he was trying to gain bragging rights. Selene’s life is anything short of the easy street, she had finally gain some dignity from all the emotional and physical abuse, well that is until Mr. Michael good for nothing comes into her world.Living in a world where people are cruel to immigrants that come to U.S. to have a better life for them.
That Michael is a piece of work instead of beginning a good boyfriend which is too much like right he show who he really is once she becomes pregnant and losses a job, talk about a real piece of work, I wish that I could tell you more how this book ends, you will just have to get your own copy, to see what Michael does to Selene or if she heads in a different direction to find true satisfaction for her life or genuine romance or even happiness within herself. Elizabeth Funderbirk from Mtyle Beach, South Carolina. This was such
an amazing bookMs. Funderbirk was very eager to share

us that she has always been a writer and wanted to become a published
author was her dream. Ms. Funderbirk also wanted to
show her children that whatever you put your mind to do, it can be
accomplished with hard work , dedication and love for what you're
doing.
When reading "Love Torn Asunder" you will be so amazed on how the characters of this novel will have you really wondering what where they thinking about or where they even thinking at all ? As with every page turning there was more that these characters ever had to endure. "Leslie" deals with so much as single woman, that her pride has gotten the best of her, not wanting to ask for help when she really needs it. And she finds herself in a huge situation that she didn't even see coming. Now trying to juggle a career, relationship and moving in with her best friend when she needed too;only because her best friend "Devine," said she was coming and that was final.
Now that "Devine" is something else she's a diva about her money, she works at "The Redd Rooster Inn," and to be honest a woman will do what she needs to do to survive in this world, but what else will she do ? Is the question. Will "Devine" cross the line or has she already done it to make that all might dollar? Now "Leslie" has a boyfriend "Lincoln" the clean cut brother in suits that is all work and no play, but he seems to be all about business and forgets that he has a woman and keeps making excuses for why he works so much; because he wants to make a life for "Leslie" and "himself."
" Leslie" is so lonely that she runs to arms of a married man "Kendrick" with shoulder length locs, yes! You heard that right she is sleeping with a married man! That is straight taboo, that's just not right at all! And "Kendrick" has the nerve to have caring wife at home that just wants to spend some Q time with her man. Oh!! By the way "Mr. Married Man Kendrick" is the cousin to "Devine" who now "Leslie" lives with. So he is always at "Devine's" house so he can see and spend time with "Leslie" how convenient is that? He is there all the time and his wife has no clue what is really going on or does she know? We would like tell you more, but you'll just have to get your very own copy to see what mess they get into and how will they get out of it. We will leave you with this thought, what a wonderful book, it is filled with tons of drama, deceit, and some lives will be torn upside down, lives will be changed forever.

recently had the pleasure and opportunity to with speak with Mrs.
Glenda Wallace/Founder and CEO of Pink Kiss Publishing from Biloxi,
Mississippi. Mrs. Wallace informed So Fyh Magazine Online that she
founded this company in 2008.
And it is growing far beyond what she had ever could image. I count it as a blessing. Because this wasn't an easy road to say the least. She also tells use that Pink Kiss Publishing is an independent book publisher, that works along with writers and new authors to guide them as well as publish their book. When I say that this company has everything that a new author would need from author development to one on one support. This diva is also an author as well, she has a couple of books titled "I Need Therapy" and "How To Get Him to Put A Ring on Your Finger in 365 Days or Less," back in 2007. Which later sparked a fire within her to start her own publishing company.
When So Fyh Magazine Online asked Mrs. Wallace where she got the name Pink Kiss Publishing she stated that she as a proud breast cancer fighter and survivor, and the Pink Kiss was something that reminded her of her fight of her life "battling Breast Cancer you begin to have a whole different outlook and meaning for life. Even the small things start to matter when you think that you might not be around for them. Then you realize that we spend too much time worrying about the wrong things, said Wallace." Getting closer to God before you're faced the a major crisis, we should already know HIM.
