Saving
Lives Through Lit would like to thank you in advance for taking time out
to learn about our vision and our mission. We hope that you will join
us and help to open the ears, hearts and minds of those across the world
to the abuse that goes on right in our neighborhoods every day behind
closed doors.
The founders of S.L.T.L. authors Elizabeth Funderbirk and Kiexiza Rodriquez, had a vision which involved bringing together those in the literary community and the general public, to raise awareness and be the voice for those who suffer in silence alone. It is the goal of this talented duo to take the talents and skills of their literary peers and use them to affect change. They want to show those that may feel they have no way out there situation there is hope. Together they sent out an S.O.S. and to their amazement received an overwhelming response from fellow, writers, authors, designers…etc more than willing to aid in their mission.
Saving Lives Through Lit, will publish one to two books yearly with the goal of bridging the gap between the victims, and those that want to help. S.L.T.L. wants to open the minds of those that think the abused either don’t want help, or must like the situations they are in. Through both fictional and true life stories, donated by wonderful people, S.L.T.L. will expose the reader to the harsh realities of the hushed world that an abused person endures. These stories will also show victory and give hope that there is an escape; you can get help, and the truth that everyone deserves better. Whether the stories deal with Domestic Violence, Rape, Child abuse, Sexual Abuse or the other many forms of abuse, you can be sure that they will move you emotionally.

Our first anthology
entitled “Voices Behind the Tears,” is scheduled to be released October
2011, which is national Domestic Violence Awareness month. We’ve had
over 20 writers submit poems, stories, excerpts and inspirational
pieces to make our introduction to the literary world a success. What
we need now is your help. We hope that you will join us in our mission
to “Save Lives Through Lit”, by donating to help us not only put out
this book, but to give back. A portion of the proceeds from book sales
will be donated to different agencies across our nation. As well as
donations given allocated to go directly to Our Heart Foundation.
Please join with those from the literary community and help us Save
Lives Through Lit. “Voices Behind the Tears” can be pre-ordered, visit
